Baptist Health System in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Nurse Extern to assist in providing nursing care across units. You will work under supervision, support patient assessments, care planning and documentation as you advance your nursing education.

The role emphasizes safety, clinical skills application, and collaboration with the RN team. Eligibility requires enrollment in an accredited RN program and completion of a basic skills lab.

Formación

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Entering final clinical practicum rotation in nursing school.
• Completed basic clinical skills lab as part of program.
• Must have active Healthcare Provider BLS; obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Assists in providing nursing care to patients under general supervision.
• Assists in assessment of physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients.
• Assists in planning and implementing a formal plan of patient care.
• Assists in evaluating nursing care provided.
• Implements/documents clinical and technical aspects of care assignment per policies.
• Intervenes with proper technique, procedure and safety precautions to meet patients' needs.
• Signs documentation that reflects role of nurse extern.
• Reinforces patient/family instruction as identified in care plan.
• Assists/performs non-invasive and non-sterile treatments and procedures with accuracy.
• Informs RN preceptor/designee team leader of patient condition changes and observations.
