Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Professional Development Nurse Educator – Generalist to design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing orientation and onboarding for new hires across Brighton BMC. You will partner with Nursing Leadership, Human Resources, Clinical Operations, and the PD Department to ensure evidence-based onboarding and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related field.
Current Massachusetts RN license.
5 years of RN experience; 2 years in nursing professional development or education.
Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating competency-based educational programs.
Experience onboarding nurses and UAPs in an acute care hospital.
AHA BLS Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
AHA ACLS Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and lead hospital-wide orientation programs for newly hired RNs, UAPs, and other clinical staff.
Develop and implement onboarding plans.
Design and facilitate classroom, simulation, and competency-based learning.
Collaborate with department leaders to tailor orientation.
Monitor progress and transition staff to independent practice.
