Job summary

Brighton BMC is seeking a Professional Development Nurse Educator – Generalist to design, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing orientation for RNs, UAPs, and clinical staff. You will promote lifelong learning, patient safety, and quality improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related field.
• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• 5 years of experience as a registered nurse.
• 2 years in nursing professional development, clinical education, or onboarding/orientation.
• Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating competency-based educational programs.
• Experience onboarding nurses and UAPs in an acute care hospital.
• Current AHA BLS Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Current AHA ACLS Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Expertise in adult learning principles, curriculum development, and competency assessment.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LMS, and EHRs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead hospital-wide orientation programs for newly hired staff.
• Develop comprehensive onboarding plans and competency-based learning.
• Design and facilitate classroom, simulation, and competency-based learning.
• Collaborate with department leaders to individualize orientation.
• Monitor orientation progress and transition staff to independent practice.
• Assess educational needs using quality metrics and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain competency validation processes.
• Serve as an educational consultant to nursing leadership.
• Support evidence-based practice and professional growth.
