Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice by delivering evidence-based educational programs for nursing and clinical staff. The role focuses on onboarding, competency, and promoting lifelong learning in a high-acuity hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital is preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or active compact state license is required.
• Nationally recognized specialty certification preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in development, coordination and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency.
• Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences.
• Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Promotes and integrates EBP to continuously improve practice and conducts research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings.
• Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate lifelong learning.
• Utilizes novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff and provides opportunities for skill enhancement.
