Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in El Paso is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to lead the Nursing Education Program and coordinate staff orientation at the State Supported Living Center.

The Nurse Educator will evaluate nursing competency, promote evidence-based practice, and ensure compliance with nursing guidelines under the Chief Nurse Executive. This is a full-time role with strong benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas.
• At least one year of experience as a practicing RN is required.
• Two years of nursing supervisory/administrative experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and develop the Nursing Education Program at the State Supported Living Center.
• Orient new nursing staff and assist in orienting student nurses.
• Evaluate competency of nursing staff and ensure optimal health care delivery.
• Promote and implement professional, legal, and ethical nursing practice.
• Assist in writing and revising nursing guidelines.
