The Nursing Professional Development practitioner is a registered nurse who uses education theory and LEAN methods to develop, deliver and evaluate learning, foster competency, and support onboarding of Hartford HealthCare colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment or area of specialty for ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Experience as a preceptor.
• Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH obtained prior to hire date.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Support learners within the Nursing Professional Development framework and ASN/BSN-level practice.
• Foster competency management, clinical nursing education, and professional role development.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to standardize policies and promote quality improvement.
• Onboard and orient Hartford HealthCare colleagues across regions.
