Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, VA, seeks a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice and quality patient care by providing evidence-based educational programs for nursing and other clinical staff at the facility. You will lead onboarding, competency development, and integration of research, EBP, and lifelong learning across teams, with travel up to 25% and RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Master's degree in nursing preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license required.
• Nationally Recognized Specialty certification preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in development, coordination, and management of competency initiatives.
• Designs educational activities to address practice gaps for licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Promotes EBP to continuously improve practice and engages in research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings.
