Job summary

The Laurels of Bedford is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator to act as the educator for the facility, conducting orientation and providing in-service educational programs for the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in long-term care is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Designs, plans and provides educational programs on all shifts and for all departments.
• Participates in staff evaluation by providing attendance records and observing performance.
• Provides general facility orientation to all new employees and ongoing in-service education.
• Plans and provides a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs.
• Ensures CNA/STNA meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement.
• Actively participates in quality assurance and reports concerns to supervisor.
