Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Nursing Professional Development practitioner (RN) to influence learner competence and growth within the Nursing Professional Development framework. This role collaborates with nursing leadership to standardize policies and advance education across Hartford HealthCare’s Greater Manchester region.

The NPD practitioner supports competency management, onboarding, and transition to practice while promoting high reliability and LEAN improvements in patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment or ambulatory/ancillary settings.
Experience as a preceptor.
Licensed Registered Nurse (CT DPH) prior to hire date.
NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer.
BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Influence competency management and clinical nursing education.
Support professional role development and policy standardization.
Foster partnerships and scientific inquiry within Nursing Professional Development.
Coordinate onboarding/orientation of Hartford HealthCare colleagues.
Align regional NPD activities with system-wide practice excellence.
