Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Nurse Director to oversee departmental nursing and clinical staff, coordinating with hospital teams to address patient care concerns and conflicts.

You will ensure regulatory readiness, manage staff development, scheduling, payroll, orientation, meetings, policies, and performance improvement while monitoring budget compliance. The role is weekday-focused but may require off-hours support.

Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license or compact-state license (or temporary Texas license).
• BSN in nursing required; master's degree preferred. Internal candidates may be required to obtain BSN within a set time after transfer.
• Must maintain current certifications per unit needs (AHA).
• Familiar with basic nursing performance standards per the TX Nurse Practice Act.
• Membership in related professional organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing and clinical staff for the department.
• Interact with hospital staff, patients, families, and other departments regarding patient care concerns and conflicts.
• Maintain staff performance skills, regulatory and accreditation readiness, and manage staff schedules, payroll, orientation, staff meetings, policies and performance improvement.
• Ensure budget compliance and manage budget variance.
• Routinely works weekdays and may support staff at other times as needed.
