Job summary

Zenith Insurance Company is seeking a Registered Nurse as a claims case manager in California. You will prioritize and manage a caseload of medical and disability workers' compensation claims, conduct utilization review, and coordinate with medical providers to optimize return-to-work outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of clinical practice in orthopedics, neurology, or occupational medicine, and maintains RN licensure. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Maintain current unrestricted RN license in the state where based and possibly other states as required by law.
• 3+ years of clinical practice with orthopedics, neurology, or occupational medicine preferred.
• Additional professional certifications such as CCM, CDMS, CIRS, CRRN or COHN are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with injured employees, medical professionals, claims staff and employers to obtain information for medical assessments.
• Assess injury severity, disability, and return-to-work plans.
• Direct treatment to panel and network providers and negotiate plans.
• Document interventions and rationale in Zenith system.
• Coordinate return-to-work efforts and discharge from care.
• Educate staff on medical issues and guidelines.
