Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Nurse Clinician to support the Children's Medical Center on the day shift. This 32-hour/week on-site role coordinates nursing activities and mentors staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include leading in-service education, coordinating unit demands, and supporting preceptors while collaborating with the Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist. A Bachelor’s in Nursing and MA RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with MA RN licensure.
• Two years of tertiary care nursing experience.
• One year in clinical preceptor/resource role and demonstrated leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and carries out educational programs for nursing staff (in-service, BLS, continuing education).
• Coordinates nursing activities to meet patient and unit needs.
• Keeps Nurse Manager informed of workload and patient/employee needs.
• Coordinates orientation for new staff on the unit.
• Assists clinical preceptor in teaching nursing staff.
• Creates an environment conducive to learning and practice per Standards of Nursing Practice.
• Collaborates to define nursing standards and educational needs.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and evaluates outcomes.
• Facilitates communication between nurses and other disciplines.
• Interviews and recommends potential nursing hires.
