Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking an experienced RN to coordinate and oversee nursing education on the assigned unit. This exempt, full-time role focuses on in-service programs, continuing education, and staffing coordination to ensure optimal patient care.

You will collaborate with the Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist, mentor new nurses, and drive quality and standards of nursing practice while supporting institutional values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing with Massachusetts RN licensure.
• Two years of current tertiary care nursing experience plus leadership experience.
• Experience in clinical preceptor and/or resource roles is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and carry out educational programs for nursing staff (in-service, BLS, continuing education).
• Coordinate nursing activities to meet patient and unit needs.
• Keep Nurse Manager informed of workload and patient/employee changes.
• Coordinate orientation for new staff and learners on the unit.
• Assist clinical preceptor in teaching defined nursing competencies.
• Promote an environment conducive to learning and adherence to Standards of Nursing Practice.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and monitor outcomes.
