Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time day shift. The role involves assisting physicians and providing patient care across a range of conditions, with responsibilities including data collection, ADL support, patient transport, specimen collection, and bedside safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program (preferred or in progress).

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed.
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required.

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation.
• Patient Transport

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required.

Certification

• BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
