Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Nurse Assistant to support our cardiac unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide essential patient care, assist in care planning, and respond to emergent situations.

You'll participate in continuing education to enhance skills, uphold our standards of excellence, and contribute to a caring patient experience. A high school diploma and Nurse Assistant program completion are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program or enrollment in nursing with Fundamentals of Nursing.
• Options include foreign-trained RN without Michigan license or Medical Assistant program, or 1 year in a similar role.
• BLS Heart Saver Certification required during orientation.
• CNA certification preferred.

About the Department

3B- 12 bed cardiac stepdown is a cardiac unit that includes anything with general medicine including COPD, CFF, cardiac traumas (not super acute), low sodium, and diabetes.

Role Overview

As a Nurse Assistant, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you'll provide essential patient care, assist in care planning, and respond to emergent situations. Your contributions directly support our nursing team and enhance the patient experience.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician) OR currently enrolled in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing OR foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
