Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Port Huron, MI, is seeking a nursing aide for the 3 South Cardiac Stepdown Unit. The position is nights, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a 72-hour biweekly schedule in a full-time role.

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, you will support patient-centered care by performing delegated care activities, assisting with daily living tasks, and maintaining a safe, respectful environment for patients and their families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or Canadian equivalent

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Provides assistance with daily activities and personal hygiene.
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations including HIPAA/OSHA.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and adheres to infection-control policies.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required

• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent
