Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Port Huron, MI is seeking a patient care associate to support day-to-day activities on the 3 South Cardiac Step Down unit. Under RN supervision, you will help with daily patient care tasks and maintain a clean, safe environment.

The role emphasizes compassionate interaction with patients and families while respecting developmental, age-specific, and cultural preferences. Required: high school diploma, 6 months of related experience or training, and BLS certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of job-related experience or training.
• BLS certification from AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.
