Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Cardiovascular Unit to support patient-centered care on a night shift (7pm–7:30am). The role involves assisting with daily activities, quick bedside care, and ensuring safe, clean environments while respecting patient development, age, and cultural needs.

The position is part-time with weekends required, and requires a high school diploma with BLS within 30 days of hire; prior direct care is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent).
• Preferred: Prior direct care experience, CENA training.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated patient care interventions to support RN in achieving treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides assistance with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean environment and follows infection-control policies.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent .
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in direct care preferred.
• CENA training
• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.
