Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Resident Aide-Nurse Aide Trainee in New York to complete classroom training and clinical studies to pass the NYS Nurse Aide Training test and become a Certified Nurse Aide.

You will join a team focused on delivering compassionate, quality care in a Nursing Home setting. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and adherence to care plans while advancing through formal training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year previous long term care experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the philosophy and objectives of the Nursing Home and the Nursing Department in performance of care as a member of the team.
• Provide care to residents assigned solely under supervision, and assist in maintaining care standards.
• Carry out assigned tasks in the admission of residents to new environments and provide care as directed.
• Contribute to resident teaching by performing procedures as instructed and observe new procedures.
• Recognize and report signs and symptoms denoting changes in a resident's condition to the charge nurse.
• Address resident requests and relay to the appropriate staff member as needed.
• Discuss performance concerns with the charge nurse to improve care.
• Treat residents and co-workers with dignity and respect.
• Participate in in-service programs and staff meetings as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining an environment conducive to quality care.
• Observe effectiveness of care and report as assigned.
• Use the Comprehensive Care Plan in carrying out assignments.
• Follow written assignments to provide continuity of care.
