Job summary

La Crosse County in Wisconsin seeks a Nurse Aide in Training to support a Long-Term Care team. You will perform essential non-direct care tasks under nursing leadership while working toward CNA certification.

The role offers a Full-Time schedule (80 hours per pay period), 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, with every other weekend and holiday rotation, starting pay $18.51/hour plus shift and weekend differentials.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal directions.
• Ability to learn job tasks through training and orientation.
• Successful completion of background check per Wisconsin Caregiver Law.

Responsibilities

• Make unoccupied beds and maintain clean, organized resident rooms.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general cleaning throughout the facility.
• Stock and distribute clean linens; collect used linen and clothing.
• Clean equipment and personal care items as directed.
• Assist with transporting residents in wheelchairs and accompany them to appointments.
• Engage residents in simple activities such as reading, walks, or games.
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide basic wayfinding assistance.
• Monitor residents or areas as assigned.
• Assist in the dining room (excluding direct meal assistance).
• Follow all safety procedures and promptly report hazards.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents’ rights.
• Support person-centered care and attend required in-service training.

Physical Requirements
