Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Aide I to support patients in a 36-hour weekly night shift at Carolinas Medical Center: Mercy, 7N Surgery Orthopedics. The role involves daily living activities, hygiene support, vital signs, and patient safety within a busy nursing unit.

Responsibilities include clerical tasks, charting, and assisting with routine clinical procedures. Requires a High School diploma or GED, DFS Nurse Aide Registry listing, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living.
• Assists patients/residents with personal hygiene.
• Takes vital signs and height/weight measurements.
• Feeds and ambulates patients/residents according to procedures.
• Maintains patient/resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observes and reports changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orient patients/families to unit and safety measures.
• Performs clerical tasks like answering phones, data entry, and medical records.
• Maintains stock items in inventory management.
• Performs Nurse Aide I tasks per state Board guidance.
• Administers a 12-Lead ECG and routine venipuncture with proper training.
