Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time Nurse Aide I to support patients with daily activities, vital signs, and basic medical procedures. The role includes 12-hour shifts, rotating holidays, and weekend requirements, with opportunities for clinical skill expansion under RN supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, RN program in progress, NC Nurse Aide I Registry listing, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Currently in good standing in a Registered Nurse academic program.
Minimum completion of first semester of RN academic program preferred.
Current listing with the NC Nurse Aide I Registry prior to start date required.
BLS required by policy.

Responsibilities

Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living.
Assists patients/residents with personal hygiene.
Takes vital signs and measurements.
Feeds and ambulates patients per procedures.
Maintains patient rooms in clean, orderly condition.
Observes and reports changes in patient conditions.
Orients patients/families to unit and safety measures.
Assists with clerical tasks and data entry; maintains medical records.
Maintains stock items in inventory.
Performs Nurse Aide I tasks including 12-lead ECG and venipuncture.
Additional tasks per NC Board of Nursing Nurse Aide I+4: Nutrition activities, Oxygen therapy, Peripheral IV fluids, Urinary catheter, Sterile technique.
