Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Nursing Administration Supervisor to coordinate hospital activities, emphasize patient throughput, experience, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements in daily operations.

The role acts as the administrative designee with Administration, supervises nursing personnel, guides staff on policies, and helps plan admissions, transfers, and staffing to maintain efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• BSN required.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date.
• Professional certification (clinical or leadership) within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Communicates administrative problems and actions taken to the nurse leader and senior leaders; rounds to assess efficiency and satisfaction.
• Guides staff on compliance with state and federal laws and Nursing Practice Act.
• Coordinates communication through huddles and meetings to share information.
• Utilizes resources to meet patient care needs.
• Supervises nursing personnel and documents actions for managers and on-call administrators.
• Advises nurses on new or unusual treatments or medications and responds to emergencies.
• Coordinates shift management to accommodate admissions/transfers and interdisciplinary cooperation.
• Monitors staffing using Float Pool and PRN to ensure appropriate coverage.
