Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. in Worcester, MA is seeking an outpatient nurse (LPN or RN) to administer medications within a medication-assisted treatment program at Lincoln Street Outpatient Treatment Program. The role requires MA licensure, CPR, and strong communication in a diverse team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per policy.
• Control, count and document on-site medications.
• Educate clients on medication assisted treatment (use, purpose, side effects).
• Verify orders with physician and transcribe orders.
• Assist in admission and document substance use diagnosis as required.

Schedule

Week one: Monday 5:30am-6:00pm, Tuesday 5:30am-6:00pm, Thursday 5:30am-2:00pm, and Saturday 5:00am-1:30pm

Week two: Monday 5:30am-6:00pm, Tuesday 5:30am-6:00pm, Thursday 5:30am-2:00pm, and Friday 5:00am-1:30pm

Pay rate

$33.00/hour (LPN), $36.00/hour (RN)

The Outpatient Nurse Is Responsible For

• Administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy.
• The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
• Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment.
• Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribes physician’s orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use diagnosis as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
