Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. in Worcester, MA is seeking an Outpatient Nurse (LPN or RN) to administer medications, document accurately, educate clients about MAT, and assist in client admissions.

Massachusetts licensure as LPN or RN is required; CPR certification must be current or obtained within 90 days. Strong written and verbal communication in a diverse team is essential; prior substance use/mental health or acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as outlined in policy.
• Control, count, and document onsite medications.

• Verify orders with physician and transcribe orders.
• Assist in admission and document substance use diagnoses as required.

Schedule

Week one: Monday 5:30am-6:00pm, Tuesday 5:30am-6:00pm, Thursday 5:30am-2:00pm, and Saturday 5:00am-1:30pm
Week two: Monday 5:30am-6:00pm, Tuesday 5:30am-6:00pm, Thursday 5:30am-2:00pm, and Friday 5:00am-1:30pm

Pay rate

$33.00/hour (LPN), $36.00/hour (RN)

Outpatient Nurse Responsibilities

• Administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy.
• The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
• Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment.
• Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribes physician's orders.
• Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use diagnosis as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
