Overview

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provides numerical control, machining, and programming technical support.
  2. Analyze blueprints and engineering models to support NC programming.
  3. Perform a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis of NC programs to ensure validation and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements and specifications as needed.
  4. Develop optimized programs to improve efficiency and run time, utilizing new cutter technology and techniques.
  5. Plans, creates, verifies, and revises machine control data and documentation that directs the operations for numerically controlled machines.
  6. Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  7. Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  8. Coordinate and communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.
  9. Optimizes processes and addresses producibility issues as well as production & post-production problems.
  10. May require understanding of machine kinematics, G-code programming, multiple machine controllers, CATIA functionality, and development of CATIA scripting and VB macros.
  11. Program CMMs, portable inspection devices and provide verification of NC programs using software and apps.
  12. May be required to troubleshoot, test or develop machine code and post processor language.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in numerical control (NC) programming of inspection devices and/or experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or familiarization with basic quality principles in an aerospace manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multiple material types.
  • Parts Design/ Wireframe experience
  • Experience with frequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel
  • Strong knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with CATIA / ENOVIA
  • Vericut proficient
  • Ability to take a project from start to finish
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally
  • Experience with Post Processor Development
  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or other related course of study a plus but not required.
