Job summary

Indiana Michigan Power Company seeks a Nuclear Engineer to provide technical leadership and program support for welding and ASME Section XI Repair/Replacement (R/R) activities within a regulated nuclear environment. The role also supports related engineering programs and ensures compliant, safe implementation of welded repairs and inspections.

The candidate will serve as a program engineer for welding and R/R activities, develop governance of processes, and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• PE licensure encouraged and preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge in welding and ASME Section XI Repair/Replacement (R/R).
• Serve as a program engineer for welding and R/R activities, including governance and continuous improvement of program processes.
• Provide engineering support across multiple programs, integrating welding, inspection, and materials considerations.
• Perform field walkdowns, inspections, and condition evaluations to identify degradation mechanisms and drive corrective actions.
• Review and approve welding procedures, qualifications, and repair packages for technical adequacy and code compliance.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure - preferred
