Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer – Nuclear for its Kimball, TN facility.

You will design valves tightly controlled by ASME standards for use in Nuclear Power Plants, processing nuclear orders, preparing drawings, models, and design reports. The role requires 2–5 years’ mechanical engineering experience, familiarity with ASME Section III, CAD tools like SolidWorks/Creo, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical degree.
• 2‑5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and/or review of ASME Section III Design Reports for Class 2 & 3 components.
• Engineering analysis of Butterfly Valves NPS 3 to over 100” for stress and deformation.
• Static seismic analysis of valve structures to Code stress limits.
• FEA in ANSYS to support design.
• Design verification using Design Reviews, alternate calculations, and qualification testing.
• Continuing education to maintain status of design work as state of the art in compliance with ASME NQA-1.
• Software verification and dedication.
• Review, summarize and apply Owner Design Specification requirements to design.
