Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Master’s is an asset).
• PE registration in at least one state.
• 5–10 years of structural engineering design experience in nuclear, conventional power or industrial buildings.
• Experience in nuclear sector is an asset.
• Major industrial buildings experience; nuclear preferred. Design, analysis, site experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of NA design codes including IBC, ASCE 7/4, ASCE 43, ACI 318/349, AISC360/N690.
• Seismic design and analysis experience (static and dynamic).
• ASME BPVC Section III knowledge is an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Willingness to travel <25%.
• Regular attendance and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication with supervisors and teams.
• Work during core hours; overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform as individual contributor with minimal supervision.
• Conduct static and dynamic analyses using tools like ANSYS, SAP2000, GT Strudl, Staad Pro, LS-Dyna.
• Design buildings, foundations, equipment platforms, pipe racks, and concrete/steel structures.
• Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory codes and Kiewit Nuclear Solutions QA.
• Support estimates, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
• Prepare design criteria, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Support tools/workflows within the structural department.
• Interact with designers, other disciplines, and stakeholders for reviews.
• Provide guidance to junior staff on engineering documentation.
