Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to implement and audit the Site Specific Safety Plan in field projects. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and support compliance with contract safety expectations and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include assisting with incident investigations, hazard inspections, and safety training, while collaborating with craft personnel to promote a strong safety culture across projects in North America.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is required or preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician is preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers and MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and communicate the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to all stakeholders including subcontractors.
• Collaborate daily with craft to promote safety program buy-in and ownership.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to enforce policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with field operations using leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, and client requirements.
