Job summary

Radiant Industries, Inc. in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Nuclear Engineer to own sensor and instrumentation solutions for a 1-MW microreactor.

You will lead detector design, modeling, and environmental qualification while collaborating with reactor control and DAQ engineers in a fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate has 1–2+ years in nuclear engineering, experience with radiation transport codes (MCNP/OpenMC/Serpent), and proficiency in Python or C/C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Own sensor and instrumentation design and analysis for nuclear reactor monitoring.
• Lead detector design for in-core and ex-core systems.
• Support detector modeling and verification with radiation transport codes.
• Evaluate environmental qualification for high-temp, high-radiation environments.
• Collaborate with DAQ engineers to integrate outputs into reactor systems.
• Support V&V against requirements; provide cross-functional feedback.
