Job summary

Radiant Industries, Inc. in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Nuclear Engineer to own nuclear design and analyses for the Kaleidos microreactor.

You will lead shielding, neutronics, dose consequence, and transient analyses while collaborating with a cross‑functional engineering team in a fast-paced startup. The ideal candidate has 1–2+ years of nuclear engineering experience, familiarity with MCNP/OpenMC/Serpent, and programming skills (Python, C++, C#, FORTRAN).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 1–2+ years of nuclear engineering industry experience (MS equivalent to 2 yrs).
• Experience with radiation transport methods and codes such as MCNP/OpenMC/Serpent.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, FORTRAN or another scientific computing language.
• Basic knowledge of thermal-hydraulic principles.
• Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of Nuclear design and analysis (shielding, neutronics, dose consequences).
• Run transient analyses by coupling neutronics and thermal calculations.
• Collaborate with engineers across functions and communicate results clearly.
• Perform other nuclear design and analysis duties as assigned.
