Job summary

Radiant, based in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own designs from requirements through operation for its nuclear microreactor control and measurement systems.

The role requires designing fault-tolerant, safety-critical hardware and collaborating across teams to ensure reliable interfaces with power equipment, sensors, and instrumentation, while meeting NFPA/NEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years designing electrical hardware.
• Experience with fault-tolerant and safety‑critical hardware.
• Proficient with industrial networks and sensors.
• Skilled in schematic and wiring design tools.
• Experience with VFDs, soft starters, MCCs, and power systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support architecture, design, and testing of nuclear microreactor electrical control systems.
• Design hardware including schematics, wiring diagrams, harnesses, and integration assemblies.
• Lead fault-tolerant and safety-critical electrical system design with compliance focus.
• Develop interfaces between control systems, power equipment, and instrumentation.
• Ensure designs meet NFPA/NEC and safety standards; perform SCCR and Arc Flash calculations.
