Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO) is seeking a Protective Force 1st Lieutenant in Carlsbad, NM. The role oversees a Security Police Officer team at the WIPP site, ensuring compliance with DOE orders and performing incident investigations, patrols, and access control.

The position requires a security-focused background with the ability to lead during emergencies, coordinate with first responders, and maintain necessary qualifications and Q clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate effective oral, analytical, written, and communications skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor Security Police Officer team at a Category 3 nuclear facility.
• Lead response to emergencies and crisis situations, including Use of Force tactics.
• Investigate security-related incidents and interview witnesses; prepare detailed security incident reports.
• Conduct/supervise vehicle and foot patrols; control access and verify identification.
• Operate government vehicles and security systems; maintain concise daily administrative documentation.
• Obtain and maintain SPO qualifications and Q clearance; support nuclear safety culture.
