Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to support the Site Specific Safety Plan and reinforce our safety-first culture across multiple project sites in Lenexa, KS and other U.S. locations.

You will collaborate with craft workers and supervision to uphold safety standards, assist with incident investigations, and help implement corrective actions. The role reports to the Project Safety Manager and involves daily field presence, hazard assessments, and safety training

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, update, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) with subcontractors.
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program ownership.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure compliance with policies and plans.
• Plan, prioritize, and resolve safety issues with operations in the field.
• Support and advise staff and craft on SSSP implementation.
• Maintain project files per OSHA/MSHA regulations and company policies.
• Assist with first aid and relationships with EMS and clinics.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Complete daily hazard inspections and support corrective actions.
• Review work plans and detailed work packs prior to work start.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation, and client requirements.
