Zusammenfassung

Aalo Atomics is seeking a Nuclear Safety Analyst/Engineer to support safety programs for its first-of-a-kind microreactor campus. You will develop and maintain safety basis documents, perform USQ screenings, and integrate safety requirements into design, construction, and operations at the Aalo-X facility in Idaho Falls.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of nuclear safety experience in DOE nuclear facilities, including involvement in safety basis development, review, or implementation.
• Working knowledge of safety basis processes, including DSA/TSR development, hazard analysis methodologies, and accident analysis techniques.
• Experience performing Unreviewed Safety Question screenings and evaluations in accordance with 10 CFR 830.
• Understanding of DOE nuclear safety requirements, including facility safety, quality assurance, and personnel qualification frameworks.
• Experience with nuclear facility hazard categorization and classification of safety structures, systems, and components.
• Ability to interpret and apply nuclear safety standards, regulations, and technical guidance documents to practical facility situations.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to perform independent technical assessments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical reports and safety evaluations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment while managing multiple priorities.

Aufgaben

• Support development, review, and maintenance of safety basis documents (DSA/TSR, hazard analyses, safety requirements).
• Conduct Unreviewed Safety Question screenings and evaluations per 10 CFR 830.
• Perform hazard identification and analysis for nuclear facilities, including consequence and likelihood assessments.
• Assist in classification of safety-class and safety-significant structures, systems, and components.
• Support readiness reviews, design reviews, and startup activities related to safety.
• Prepare technical reports and safety evaluations for DOE oversight bodies.
• Contribute to Integrated Safety Management System across facility operations.
• Coordinate with safety disciplines to ensure comprehensive hazard management.
