Job summary

TerraPower, based in Bellevue, WA, seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer to advance QA for advanced nuclear reactor research and medical isotopes. The role can be remote or onsite in Everett, WA, with up to 50% travel within the continental US.

Responsibilities include auditing, supplier qualification, and QA process development, with opportunities to mentor on NRC QA issues and licensing. A strong background in nuclear QA is required.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in a nuclear QA function regulated by USNRC.
• Current certification as NQA-1 Lead Auditor or NRC inspector eligibility.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to mentor and train on NRC QA issues and licensing.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and derive baseline QA requirements.
• Interface with customer and supplier QA to resolve issues.
• Review engineering docs for QA compliance and flow-downs.
• Lead supplier qualification audits and ESL surveillances.
• Coordinate and host customer and regulator audits and visits.
• Develop and revise QA processes and procedures.
• Plan internal TerraPower audits as ATL.
• Support CAPA, continuous improvement, and risk management.
• Review QA-related procedures and procurement documents for QA flow-downs.
• Mentor and train on NRC QA issues and licensing.
