Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Nuclear Projects Oak Ridge team. The role coordinates engineering activities for simple to mid-complex projects, working closely with the Project Manager and Lead Discipline Engineers.

Travel up to 25% and a path toward project management are expected. US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance may be required; Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program is required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for completing assignments.
• Analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions.
• Technical and business writing skills.
• Innovative and able to consider alternative strategies to work problems.
• Basic computer and software skills including work processing, email, spreadsheets, and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Technical coordination of engineering activities for simple to mid-complexity design projects.
• Maintain close working relationship with Project Manager and Lead Discipline Engineers.
• Provide early entry into project management and support for cost and schedule management.
• Coordinate multi-discipline work in AE setting (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Chemical/Process, Electrical, Controls).
• Support scope control and time management.
