Amentum is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Nuclear Projects Oak Ridge team. The role coordinates engineering activities for simple to mid-complex projects, working closely with the Project Manager and Lead Discipline Engineers.

Travel up to 25% and a path toward project management are expected. US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance may be required; Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program is required.

• Coordinate multi-discipline work in AE setting (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Chemical/Process, Electrical, Controls).
• Support scope control and time management.

Project Engineer

We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to support our Nuclear Projects Oak Ridge team .

Project Engineer is responsible for the technical coordination of engineering activities for simple to mid-complexity design projects. Project Engineers maintain a close working relationship with the Project Manager and Lead Discipline Engineers. This is a great position for those who seek solving technical challenges with an entry into project management.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year ABET accredited university.

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks,
• Proactive in taking prompt and appropriate action to ensure objectives are accomplished and apply necessary follow-up to monitor progress and results of project tasks and assignments.
• Analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions
• Technical and business writing skills
• Innovative and able to generate and consider alternative strategies or approaches to work problems and opportunities
• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of work processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and project management tools
• Project Management Certification (PMP) desired but not required.

Leadership

Prepared to demonstrate:

• Multi-discipline work coordination, facilitating technical teams in an Architectural / Engineering (AE) setting, specifically in disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Chemical/Process, Electrical, Controls, Specialty Design.
• Strong technical scope control
• Interest and aptitude for cost and schedule management
• High degree of organization and time management skills

Security Clearance

• Candidate must be a US Citizen. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Location

• Amentum Engineering Home Office in Oak Ridge, TN. Resides in a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office, reportable 4 days/week.

Travel

• Position will require 25% travel.

Compensation Details:
$90,000 - $120.000
