Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Manager of Procurement for US NND projects in Charlotte. You will lead end-to-end procurement, integrate with Engineering, Quality, Construction, and Legal to ensure compliant, timely, and cost-effective material delivery for nuclear programs.

The role requires strong leadership, supplier qualification, and contract management skills, with focus on long‑lead equipment, regulatory compliance (NQA‑1, ASME), and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in relevant discipline.
• SCMP, CPSM, CPM, CSCP or equivalent certification considered an asset.
• Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the project procurement strategy aligned with the project execution model including modularization, fabrication, field installation, engineered equipment, long-lead materials, and subcontracted services.
• Identify long-lead materials, critical equipment, engineered equipment, fabrication scopes, and key subcontract scopes early in the project lifecycle.
• Define sourcing strategies including competitive bids, strategic partners, sole source where justified, commercial packaging, and supplier risk mitigation approaches.
• Establish supplier qualification and prequalification plans, ensuring alignment to nuclear QA requirements, NQA-1 expectations, ASME requirements where applicable, regulatory commitments, and client requirements.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews of procurement packages with Engineering, Quality, Construction, Project Controls, Commercial, Legal, and client or partner stakeholders prior to issue.
• Lead supplier qualification, audits, and pre‑award evaluations, ensuring vendors meet nuclear quality, technical, regulatory, commercial, and export control requirements.
• Prepare a comprehensive Procurement Plan that defines procurement execution approach, sourcing strategy, approval workflows, procurement schedule, supplier oversight, expediting, logistics, and reporting requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across the supply chain to reduce risk, improve performance, strengthen supplier readiness, and support future US NND opportunities.
