Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a seasoned supervisor to maintain plant components, equipment, systems, structures, and buildings, while guiding assigned personnel to work safely, with quality and productivity. You will oversee Scheduler Coordinators across I&C, HVAC, Welding, Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Maintenance, ensuring reliable plant operations and effective resource use.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree in electronics, electrical technology, mechanical technology, or physical science; OR US Navy nuclear experience with rating E-6 or above and >6 years total experience; OR high school diploma/GED and >10 years total experience.
• Work Experience: 8 years in instrumentation and controls, and/or mechanical or electrical experience; at least 3 years nuclear power plant experience; at least 1 year as First Line Supervisor.
• Other Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills, effective writing and verbal communication; demonstrated leadership; broad knowledge of nuclear standards and policies; ANSI/N18.1-1971 or current governing document revisions with concurrence.

Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled meetings to ensure a high-quality schedule is developed for I&C, Mechanical, or Electrical departments, utilizing resources to be most productive.
• Act as the department manager designee.
• Coordinate with other supervisors, sections, and departments to minimize equipment unavailability and ensure proper functionality.
• Plan and schedule work to efficiently utilize resources (personnel, test equipment, tools).
• Ensure schedules accommodate outages or critical projects, around the clock when necessary.
• Plan and schedule calibrations per Technical Specifications.
• Oversee the discipline-specific schedule coordinator and Surveillance Coordinator and M&TE supervisor in Instrumentation & Controls.
