Job summary

Southern Nuclear is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Specialist at Plant Vogtle to develop, maintain, and evaluate emergency preparedness plans and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role coordinates drills, maintains the Emergency Response Facility readiness, and supports the Emergency Response Organization, interfacing with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure robust emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with managers and staff at all levels.
• Knowledge of emergency preparedness regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry standards is desired.
• Experience with developing, maintaining, and evaluating emergency preparedness plans and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and evaluates emergency preparedness plans in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develops, maintains, and evaluates emergency preparedness procedures.
• Coordinates drill and exercise preparation, scheduling, evaluation, and documentation; leads scenario development and drill reports.
• Maintains the site Emergency Response Organization roster and ensures personnel remain qualified.
• Maintains documentation to support emergency preparedness activities and relationships with local emergency management agencies.
