Job summary

Southern Nuclear, the Vogtle Plant site, is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Specialist to develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements. The role will coordinate drills, emergency response facility readiness, and liaison with local/regional agencies.

The successful candidate will manage EP program documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and support 10 CFR 50.54(q) evaluations while maintaining readiness of the Emergency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred; professional certifications may be considered.
• Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 and FEMA REP courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and evaluates emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
• Coordinates site mapping and GIS support for alert and notification activities.
• Ensures readiness of the Emergency Response Facility and maintains equipment inventories.
• Coordinates drill and exercise preparation, evaluation, and documentation.
• Maintains the site Emergency Response Organization roster and training.
• Leads self‑assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective action support.
