Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a PRN position. The technologist will support imaging exams, ensure patient safety, and operate NM equipment.

Responsibilities include proper patient identification, equipment setup, and collaboration with radiology staff to provide high-quality diagnostic images. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in patient care is required, with preference for Nuclear Medicine experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Technology required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical patient care experience.
• 1 year Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
• ARRT Nuclear Technology or Nuclear Medicine Tech certification required upon hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adjust technique to obtain optimal image quality while maintaining patient safety.
• Prepare and position patients; ensure correct patient ID and marker use; document preprocedural steps.
• Explain procedures and maintain patient comfort using AIDET principles.
• Maintain equipment quality and report malfunctions; ensure routine cleaning and infection control.
• Restock supplies, transport patients as needed, perform patient charging activities, and support department operations.
