Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist to assist physicians in diagnostic procedures, prepare patients, and operate nuclear medicine equipment to obtain high-quality scans.

Responsibilities include administering radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring patient safety, and providing care from pediatrics to adults with professional judgment and critical thinking. ARRT/NMTCB program completion and SCRQSA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program.
• 0-2 years of modality-specific experience.
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from NMTCB or Registered Technologist (RT (N)) from ARRT or registry eligible with a B.S. or B.A. preferred.
• If registry eligible, must obtain certification within 12 months.
• Licensure from the SCRQSA required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, ACLS preferred.

Additional Job Description

Work Experience: 0-2 years of modality specific experience.

Credentials: Must be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the NMTCB or Registered Technologist (RT (N)) from ARRT or registry eligible with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. If registry eligible, must obtain certification within 12 months. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
