Job Description Summary

Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation‑detecting instrumentation. Prepares and administers radioactive chemical compounds known as radiopharmaceuticals. Is knowledgeable in IV placement to avoid extravasation of radiopharmaceuticals. Performs computer processing and image enhancement, and provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Provides excellent patient care and demonstrates excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified nuclear medicine technologist (CNMT) or registered technologist (RT (N)) or otherwise eligible, with a B.S. or B.A. preferred.
• Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized nuclear medicine program required; CAHEA‑approved program preferred.
• At least two years of modality‑specific experience in a similar position required.
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) is mandatory.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (e.g., AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers, or equivalent).
• Proactive maintenance and renewal of ARRT certification, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate within the PET/CAT Scan imaging suite.
