Corewell Health Grosse Pointe Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform imaging and non-imaging procedures using radioactive tracers. You will be responsible for safe handling of radioactive materials, operating detection equipment, and delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires an associate’s degree with JRCERT accreditation and NMTCB certification within 6 months of hire, plus BLS certification at hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; graduate of JRCERT-accredited Radiography program.
• CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (NMTCB) required within 6 months of hire.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging and non-imaging procedures using radioactive tracers.
• Ensure safe handling of radioactive materials and operate radiation detection equipment.
• Apply knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures to generate accurate patient results.
• Provide patient care consistent with the Patient and Family Centered Care philosophy.

Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. In March 2012, the Cotton Family Birth Center at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital was designated a Baby-Friendly birth center by Baby-Friendly USA. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is also home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center , a leading-edge, hybrid surgical suite offering advanced learning, technological advancements and a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches.

Scope of work

The NMT performs both imaging and non-imaging procedures on patients and/or patient samples using radioactive tracers. The NMT is responsible for the safe and correct handling of radioactive materials, the care and operation of radiation detection equipment, knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, the appropriate computer analysis to generate a patient result, and patient care. A NMT uses specific age and culture-related physical, intellectual psychosocial and developmental attributes in assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Follows Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program
• CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Required 6 months from date of hire
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
