Job summary

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform imaging and non-imaging procedures using radioactive tracers, ensuring safe handling and accurate results.

The role requires an associate degree from a JRCERT-accredited radiography program, NMTCB certification within 6 months of hire, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. 40 hours weekly, day shift, on-site.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from a JRCERT accredited radiography program.
  • Certification by NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine Technology is required within 6 months from date of hire.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required on hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging and non-imaging procedures using radioactive tracers.
  • Safely handle radioactive materials and operate radiation detection equipment.
  • Provide patient care and knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures.
  • Ensure correct computer analysis to generate patient results.

Scope of work
The NMT performs both imaging and non-imaging procedures on patients and/or patient samples using radioactive tracers. The NMT is responsible for the safe and correct handling of radioactive materials, the care and operation of radiation detection equipment, knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, the appropriate computer analysis to generate a patient result, and patient care. A NMT uses specific age and culture-related physical, intellectual psychosocial and developmental attributes in assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Follows Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Qualifications

  • Required associate’s degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program
  • CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. Required 6 months from date of hire.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
