Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist’s primary responsibilities are to produce diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures as ordered and assist physicians or radiologists in delivering high-quality patient care.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist models adherence to the Hospital’s applicable policies, protocols, practices, and expectations.

  • Nuclear Medicine imaging and computer manipulation and processing.
  • Camera quality control and radiation safety.
  • Radioisotope administration and documentation.
  • Image processing and labeling.
  • Scheduling of procedures.
  • Use of office computers, filing systems, phones, and paging systems.
  • Transporting of patients.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Must have satisfactorily completed a two-year training program in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent North Carolina state license.
  • Must be certified through the ARRT.
  • New hires or transfers to a different modality must achieve certification within six months of that assignment.
  • Must maintain current CPR certification.
  • Venipuncture certification.
  • Must be current with continuing education requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude and a sense of teamwork.
