Qualifications

  • Completion of a two-year training program in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent.
  • Certification through ARRT required.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist’s primary responsibilities include producing diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures as ordered and assisting physicians or radiologists in delivering high-quality patient care.

The Technologist models adherence to hospital policies, protocols, practices, and expectations.

  • Nuclear Medicine imaging, computer manipulation, and processing
  • Camera quality control and radiation safety
  • Radioisotope administration and documentation
  • Image processing and labeling
  • Scheduling procedures
  • Use of office computers, filing, phone, and paging systems
  • Transporting patients

Qualifications needed:

  • Completion of a two-year training program in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent, with North Carolina state license
  • Certification through ARRT
  • New hires or transfers must achieve certification within six months of assignment
  • Current CPR certification
  • Venipuncture certification
  • Current with continuing education requirements
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and teamwork orientation
